I’m not sure why they got into the business in the first place, though I’m surprised that they would be pulling out after such a short time. Microsoft is not known for throwing in the towel so quickly. I guess they realized that they weren’t going to be able to throw their weight around in a field dominated by companies that really know what they’re doing.
File this quote under “Huh?!”: “…Microsoft entered the Wi-Fi field with hopes of ‘raising the bar’ on security, ease-of-use and performance and now feels it has accomplished those goals.”
Hrm… something just doesn’t seem right here: Microsoft, Security, Ease-of-use, Performance. The words just don’t seem to work together…
