Olympic stories untold… The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has banned athletes from posting personal stories about the games on the net. This is really unfortunate… the IOC claim they are just trying to protect their broadcast partners who have paid $1.32 billion for exclusive TV rights, making sure they don’t get scooped by the net. In the process, though, they are stifling what could be an incredibly inspiring and educational view of an Olympic athlete’s journey. “To [the IOC], the Internet represents a new form of journalism that they can’t control. This new journalism is about personal expression directly written by participants in events.” (from blog of the week,Blogger)(thanks ev)
